Kumusha Power is the licensed distributor within Zimbabwe for Solar Home Systems produced by d.light Design. These products have proven to be extremely popular elsewhere in Africa, including Kenya, where PayGo credit-driven sales have been especially strong. So how are these products being distributed within Zimbabwe?
Kumusha Power will be working with established distribution partners, such as the major retailer TV Sales and Home, which has a network of 55 branches across the country. In addition, we will work with Creative Credit, which has a dedicated sales force operating from five centres with a focus mainly on making credit sales to formally employed civil servants in government schools, hospitals and other institutions.
In addition Kumusha Power has signed an Authorised Reseller Agreement with ZimPost. This will involve the installation of branded sales booths across the nationwide ZimPost network of up to 220 sites. These sales booths will be run by trained ZimPost staff and will be our key channel to market for covering the rural areas of the country, and often the informally employed.
Finally, we will be working in partnership with Saltis Consulting / Buy Direct. This reseller will focus on both the wholesale and online sales channels. The emphasis here will be on serving those Zimbabweans living abroad, often referred to as the Diaspora. This group often like to purchase goods and services on behalf of their families living in Zimbabwe.
Our objective is to offer Zimbabweans an affordable Solar Home System which can be bought and / or delivered wherever they live in the country.
